The reclaimed bitter

NUOVO LIQUORIFICIO FABBRIZII
IN VAL D’AVETO

Apéritifs and digestifs, just like back then.

Once upon a time there was an elegant café in the center of Sestri Ponente. It was owned by Giovanni Fabbrizzii, a coffee and liquor maker: at the beginning of the 20th century the Genoese upper-class met there to be seen enjoying the famous Amaro Fabbrizii, a “digestive tonic liqueur” also purveyed to the Dukes of Savoy.

Giovanni’s descendants have founded a new liqueur distillery in the lush valley of the Aveto river, an ideal location for gathering the best botanicals. The family tradition now continues here among stills and aging casks, to recreate those authentic Ligurian aperitifs and digestifs that taste just like a long time ago.

THE AVETO VALLEY,
BEYOND THE GLASS

We have the deepest connection with the Aveto Valley: we grew up in its fields and forests, gathering berries, roots, bark, herbs, and flowers for our homemade liqueurs of all kinds, from vernacular classics such as prugnolo, erba Luisa and nocino, to the great mixes that every year made us emotional at the first sip.
