Fabbrizii Aperitif 70cl
The rediscovered aperitif
Orange, summer, and freshness: these are the sensations the Fabbrizii Aperitivo offers. Smooth, enveloping, and thirst-quenching thanks to its low alcohol content (15%). Its lush bitter flavor makes it ideal for a thirst-quenching aperitif, even enjoyed neat on the rocks.
HOW WE DO IT
As instructed by Giovanni Fabbrizii, we produce Amaro naturally with a selection of herbs originally from the Apennines, complemented by the exotic touch of cascarilla bark from the Antilles. We crush the botanicals and leave them to infuse in cold alcohol for 20 days. The amaro is then refined in aroma for another 40 days and then bottled. A small production, reserved for those visiting our distillery in Val d'Aveto, is also aged in barrels made from fine woods: oak, chestnut, black locust, cherry, and ash.
A RECIPE FROM THE PAST
It had gone out of production around 1940 but we found it again: it was there, with its secret ingredients, in our great-grandfather Giovanni's liqueur guide, lost for many years and discovered in an old piece of furniture.
The famous Amaro Fabbrizii, the “tonic and digestive liqueur” drunk at the court of the Savoy family during the Belle Époque and already shipped throughout Italy to enthusiasts of fine drinking, returns today.
This is truly an “old-fashioned” bitter: it has a story that needs to be told and tasted…
